EMINENT DIET CAT RENAL/URINARY
The kidneys are a vital, paired organ with numerous functions in the body. They eliminate harmful metabolic products from the body and also maintain the homeostasis of the internal environment. They are involved in controlling blood volume and pressure. Should their functions fail, it is necessary that patients be provided with proper nutrition.
The formula of this diet helps to slow kidney failure. The lower content of some minerals prevents the formation of new urinary stones. Among the functional ingredients of the food are cranberries. They contain proanthocyanidins that have the ability to stop bacteriafrom sticking to the bladder walls and forming colonies. Prevention of bacterial infection is the result of this mechanism.
